Flight will bring the house down on the 7th of May when headlining artist ACTIVA (UK) graces the decks at The Sound Room in Johannesburg. Join the team once more for their 3rd birthday party, as this event has grown into one not to be missed by the masses that follow. Flight is proud to present UK based DJ Rob Stevenson, aka ACTIVA, who has fast grown into one of the most prolific and in demand trance producers today. You’d have heard many of his productions played at Flight, now come experience him live in action! Activa is very definitely cutting out his own niche in the trance scene with a constant flow of productions that challenge traditional trance stereotypes whilst delighting dance fans on a global scale. Activa’s cutting edge, driving and euphoric sounds, the kind of energetic, peak time dance floor material puts him in a similar bracket to the likes of John O'Callaghan and Simon Patterson. As a DJ, Activa's career path is at the top, a UK residency at Digital Society that has seen both artist and event grow together to legendary status with UK clubbers over the past couple of years. He has been booked to play Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Passion, Gallery and Slinky, and at events such as Tomorrowland festival in Belgium, Vandit nights with Paul van Dyk in Germany and numerous tour dates as far as India, Asia, Australia and South America. Any self respecting follower of the trance scene can't fail to have been moved by Activa's releases over the past couple of years, such as 'End Of Summer' on Discover, 'Remember' and 'Rise Above' on Vandit, 'Eclipse' on Anjunabeats, the dark, tech edged destroyer 'Sniper' / 'Wargame EP' on Discover Dark, not forgetting his remix of Paul van Dyk 'For An Angel' for Nebula / New State. , Paul van Dyk has even credited him as being "Producer of the The Year" in DJ Magazine. The end of 2009 saw Activa release 'This World', his debut artist album, to huge critical acclaim on the Discover label, spawning numerous hit single releases and a set of worldwide tour dates that stretched well into 2010. Current and forthcoming release projects include the new compilation CD 'Digital Society Volume 3' released in September 2010, plus new productions Activa vs Revolution 9 'The Fall' and Activa 'Back To The Nineties' following hot on the heels of the recent Activa remix of Super8 & Tab 'Black Is The New Yellow' on Anjunabeats. Nobody can deny that Activa is on a roll, and with a new artist album underway, 2011 is set to be the year for him to break into the major league of global trance DJs. |
